Our history began in 1995, when R House opened at this same West Toledo location. In 2018, the business became Casey’s Toledo. Although the name changed, the bar continued serving the community from the same building.

R House opened here in 1995 and became an important West Toledo gathering place. Customers met friends, celebrated milestones, attended entertainment and built lasting relationships inside the bar.
In 2018, R House became Casey’s Toledo. The new name connected the business with the history of Casey’s nightclubs in Portland, Oregon, while the Toledo location continued the neighborhood tradition established by R House.
Because of that continuous history, Casey’s represents one of Toledo’s longest-running LGBTQ+ bar traditions. The business has changed and grown, but the same location continues to welcome the community.
